About the book  Book overview "Buy a horse, they said. It will be fun, they said." Casey Halbach's life was perfectly on track. She had it all: good friends, a loving boyfriend, a decent job with her very own cubicle. Then, she met Sky. Riding instructor, barn manager, and whirlwind of energy, Sky effortlessly launches Casey back into the saddle. After fifteen years behind a desk, Casey was a little rusty . . . but the more time she spends at the stable, the more she never wants to leave. Friends are confused, the boyfriend is concerned, and Casey is conflicted - but when she decides to take the plunge and buy a horse of her own, she realizes that she was just dabbling in the shallow end before. Now, Casey's pretty sure she's in over her head, but the crazy thing is: She thinks she likes it this way. Can anyone balance life, work, and horses? Casey's going to give it a try. Indeed, she's pretty sure she doesn't have a choice. The series  And I though...

You’ll find episodes about seasonal traditions, creating cozy spaces, reading rituals, simple pleasures, and, of course, books. Meet Dawn    Some things about me . . . Writing is a passion, but music has always played an important role in my life since I was a wee little one. I sang with groups through high school and college, then served as a vocalist with a contemporary worship band for eighteen years. Blessed with two married daughters, one grown stepdaughter, and four gorgeous grandchildren, I live with my husband in the beautiful Pacific Northwest. The forest is my happy place, and I love spending time in the mountains. Some of my favorite things include dark chocolate, popcorn, strong coffee, cinnamon, family time, and Masterpiece Theatre. My work has been published in the Christian Fiction Online Magazine, Backyard Friends, The One Year Life Verse Devotional (Tyndale), A Joyful Heart: Experiencing the Light of His Love (Guideposts), and featured on the radio ministry, The Heartbeat of the Home. In 2010, I launched Faithfully Write Editing and soon moved from part-time to full-time freelance edit...

About The Book  Former reality TV baking show contestant and recent divorcée Hope Early is trying to find her recipe for success as a food blogger—but murder keeps getting in the mix . . . When Hope’s elderly neighbor perishes in a home fire, she can’t help but feel somewhat responsible. Only the day before, Peggy Olson had called her over, having burned a pot on the stove while she was sleeping and filling the house with smoke. In fact, she couldn’t even remember cooking. Clearly, it was dangerous for the woman to live alone. But it turns out she wasn’t alone. When a second body is discovered in the basement of the burned house, suddenly what appeared to be a tragic accident is beginning to look like premeditated murder. As rumors spread like wildfire, Hope is determined to sort out the facts and smoke out a killer, but she might be jumping from the frying pan straight into the fire . . . Includes Recipes from Hope’s Kitchen! And others are saying I love the great cast of c...
